Obituary

Edith Ann Trousil, 96, of Ewen, passed away on January 26, 2015 at her home in Ewen.

Edith Trousil (Lorendo) was born Oct. 17,1918 in Ewen. She graduated from Ewen High School in 1937. She worked in a logging camp before marrying Theodore Trousil on June 27, 1938. They started farming in 1943. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Ewen, serving at times as a secretary and treasurer of the ladies guild. At the church bazaars, she ran the dice game and later the Silver Dollar game. For years collected for a number of charities, especially the Ontonagon Cancer Society. She cared for 4 loved ones before their death. She worked for 2 years on the Ewen Centennial Book. Edith helped her husband with the daily dairy farm operations. She served on the board of Farm Home administration when they had offices in Ewen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore(4/29/1992), an infant son, Jerry(4/1939), her parents, Albert(11/1975) and Agnes Lorendo(Elsner)(3/1963), a brother, George Lorendo(9/1997), and sister, Kathleen O'Brien (Lorendo)(12/2002).

Surviving are her son Gary and his wife Sue Trousil, 2 granddaughters, Michelle and Heather.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Cane Funeral Home - Bruce Crossing Chapel from 5-7 p.m., with Vigil Prayers beginning at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ewen.
