Elaine Gilmer, 90, of Ontonagon (formerly of Bergland), passed away Monday, September 17, 2012 at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital following a brief illness.

Elaine was born November 23, 1921 in Pickerel, WI to Fred and Anne (Now) Krueger. She was married to the late Jess Gilmer for 65 years. Elaine enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening as well as camping. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bergland for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jess; son, Paul; parents Fred and Anne; and sister Arlene.

Elaine is survived by her son Bob (Mary) Gilmer; grandsons Christopher (Heather) and James (Kim) Gilmer; great-grandchildren Cole, Mackenzie, Payton, and Jessica Gilmer; brother Bud Krueger and sister Laverne Monnot. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Elaine will be held Friday, September 21 at 2 p.m. Eastern at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bergland, with Pastor Howard Neider officiating. Visitation will take place from 1-2 p.m., and burial will be in the Lake Side Cemetery following the funeral service. The Cane Funeral Home is assisting the family.
