Ernest Carl Laitola, 55, passed away on April 14, 2011 in Saudi Arabia.

Ernest Carl was born in Wiesbaden, Germany to Evelyn and Ernest Laitola on October 11, 1955. He graduated from Gwinn, Michigan and received an Associate's Degree in Laser Engineering at a university in Tucson, Arizona. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Air Force for 15 years.

He is survived by his wife, Levy; daughters, Maria and Sarah; parents, Evelyn and Ernest; brothers, Gary (Cathy) and Larry (Linda); sister, Janet (Bob) Scheltema; aunts, Toini Spitale and Jewel Addison; 5 grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service with military honors for Ernest Carl Laitola will be held on Tuesday, May 10 at 1 p.m. at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Rockland, with Pastor David Nelson officiating. Arrangements are by the Cane Funeral Home.
