Evelyn Lucille Deerwester, 77, of White Pine, MI, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of October 6th, 2011, at her home in White Pine.

Evelyn was born in Poynette, Wisconsin to William Colstad and Lucille (Bisbee) Colstad, on September 13, 1934. She went to school in Poynette, graduating the year of 1951. She loved to play the trombone in high school and was baton majorette. She still enjoyed playing the piano and organ.

Evelyn was married to her childhood love, Stephen Donald Deerwester on the 20th of August 1951 at the Methodist Parsonage, Poynette, Wisconsin. They were married for 55 years. They lived in many states around the country, having numerous friends.

She worked for Wal-Mart in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky as an associate in the receiving department. Mom loved to crochet in her elderly years and came to enjoy using the computer- Farmville, Facebook and Pogo.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Rhea Golden; and two sons, Darin and Dennis; daughter-in- law, Debi Deerwester; soon to be son-in-law, Joe Gentiline; her brother, Larry Colstad; her sisters-in-law, June Colstad and Ann Sheridan; and her uncle, Cecil Colstad. Grandchildren include: Jason Deerwester, Dana Deerwester II, Dusty Rogers, Danny Deerwester, Evelyn Deerwester II, Danielle Wyeth, Michael Deerwester, Sara Ramirez, Jesi Ramirez, Amy Ramirez, Joshua Deerwester, Natasha Deerwester, Jarrod Deerwester, Stephen Veach, Jeremy Golden, Shawn Golden, and Dustin Golden and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents, Lucy and Bill Colstad; her husband, Stephen Deerwester; daughter, Renay Ramirez; sons, Dann and Dana Deerwester; and grandson, Eric Deerwester.

Evelyn will be cremated and her Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Cards and flowers can be sent to her home, 96 Elm Street, Box 121, White Pine, Michigan 49971. The family wishes to thank everyone for their love and thoughts. Mother will be greatly missed.
