Frances M. DeHut, 97, of Ontonagon passed away March 22, 2011 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming.

She was born September 27, 1913 to parents William and Lois May (Dowd) Hales, in Ontonagon. On September 5, 1931, she was united in marriage to Harry J. DeHut.

Frances had several hobbies, including cleaning her house, picking agates and making jewelry from them, camping, and collecting old bottles with her husband. She also had a deep love of music and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Frances is survived by 6 grandchildren: Joseph, of Cochran, WI, (Harry) Mark of Pulaski, WI, Connie of Elgin, IL, Stephen (Becky) of San Diego, Patrick of Vincennes, IN and Scott of Ontonagon. She is also survived by 4 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry J. DeHut; son, Harry F. DeHut, parents, William and Lois May Hales; brothers, Ray (Marie) Hales and Wendell Hales; and sisters, Meriel (Edward) Corbeil and Fern (LE) White.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 28, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Ontonagon. Friends may call one hour prior to service. Spring interment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Greenland.
