Obituary

Jack A. Mannikko 71 of White Pine passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009 at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain.

He was born August 6, 1937 in Ontonagon to the late Elsie (Carlson) Prisk and Toivo Mannikko. Jack graduated from Ontonagon High School and joined the Navy in 1955. He served for 3 years active duty and was a member of the reserves until 1963. Jack was very proud of his military service.

In 1981 he was united in marriage to Susan Wiita. Jack was employed in the mining industry. He liked to work on all types of puzzles, from jigsaw to crossword. In the fall Jack enjoyed making firewood with his daughter Amber.

He is survived by his wife Susan, daughters Amber, Sandy (Brian) Beauchamp and Wendy Davis, sons Randy(Yolanda) and Jack Mannikko, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brother Donald (Beth) Mannikko, aunt Tiami, special cousins Marcie and Eino Mannikko, Elaine Scholar and Elvie Mannikko, and numerous other cousins.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Candy Kay Mannikko, sister Janet Neimila and brother Kenneth Mannikko.

A graveside service will be held at the Green Cemetery in Green, MI on August 6, 2009 at 1 p.m. The Cane Funeral Home is assisting the family.
