Obituary

James Donald "Jim" Hedler 51 of Mass City passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2006 as the result of a motorcycle accident.

He was born September 1, 1954 in Ontonagon to Donald and Helen (Lukkari) Hedler. Jim attended the Ontonagon area schools.

Jim worked for many years in the construction industry. He also worked in several jobs in the medical field including as an EMT. He was presently employed at Ontonagon Memorial Hospital.

Jim enjoyed his work and took a very compassionate and empathetic approach to caring for his patients. He was very professional in his duties and took his responsibilities extremely seriously.

Jim enjoyed the hobby of metal detecting. He loved to hunt and enjoyed snowmobiling a great deal. All of these activities offered Jim the opportunity to spend time with his friends.

Jim is survived by his mother Helen, sister Darline (Dutch) Kugler of Mosinee, WI, Tom (Deb) Hedler of Mass City, niece Renee (Mike) Ruplinger, nephew Jason Leclaire, great-niece Hannah, great nephew Eli, and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Donald.

Visitation will be held Friday August 11th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cane Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may also call on Saturday one hour prior to the start of the service. Friends may leave condolences at canefuneralhome.com
