Jared John Sharkey, age 40, of Iron Mountain, Michigan, passed away May 4, 2022 unexpectedly at his home. Jared was born in Ontonagon, MI on July 18, 1981 to Marsha Engberg and Bill Sharkey. Jared graduated from Ontonagon Area High School in the spring of 2000. He was a 14-year employee as a Press Operator at the Louisiana Pacific Plant in Sagola, Michigan.

Jared's pride and joy were his children, Haley and Jace. He loved spending time with them and sharing his love of the outdoors, whether it be fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, four wheeling, or playing with their German Shepard, Katie. He was an avid outdoorsman and spent a lot of his time at "Sharkey's Kamp". Jared was a gentle and kind person who would do anything for anyone. His smile was contagious. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Jared is survived by his children Haley and Jace and their mother, Michelle Crampton and "bonus kids" Azlyn and Ryan; brother Chad (Sarah) Sharkey; and sisters; Tasha (Jason) Sullivan, Jenna (Franklin) Sharkey, and JoEllen Howard. He is also survived by his mother Marsha Engberg and father William Sharkey; grandmother JoAnn Sharkey, aunts Dorothy Sharkey, Vicky (Mark) Szczepanik, Anne (Tim) Scott, Susan (Tom) Shaner. Uncles Jim Sharkey, John (Dianne) Engberg. He also is survived by nieces; Ella Sharkey, Ava Sharkey, Shay Sullivan and nephews Daymin Heikkila, Dustin Howard, Kevyn Nordine, and Kade Sullivan, cousins; Brittany and Cory Szczepanik, Christopher Engberg, and Kyle Fiszer. Many other wonderful relatives and friends.

Jared is preceded in death by grandparents John and Betty Engberg and Dave Sharkey; aunt Kristine Engberg; uncle Joe Sharkey; and aunt Patricia Sharkey.
