Jean L. Leksell, 98, of Bruce Crossing, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2007, in Ontonagon.

She was born in Ironwood on Oct. 23, 1909, to the late Russel and Lucia (Gabriel) Blackwell.

Jean and Russell Leksell were married in November of 1931. They made their home in Rhinelander, Wis., and later moved Kenton, and then to Bruce Crossing.

Jean was a member of the Wesley United Methodist church in Ironwood. She was also involved in the American Red Cross.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy French, Trout Creek; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son, Kenton.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later time.

Donations in Jean's memory are preferred to SONCO.
