Jeanette May (Sauleen) Bedford, 92, of Ontonagon died peacefully on July 28, 2025, after a series of illnesses. She was born on March 14, 1933, in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin to John and Gladys (Buetow) Sauleen and grew up on the family farm in Trego, Wisconsin with her brother and four sisters.

She lived most of her adult life in Illinois before retiring and moving to Marco Island, Florida with the love of her later life, Leo Kutzler, where she and Leo enjoyed music, singing, boating, entertaining visitors and pursuing many other pleasures of a well-earned retirement. For the last several years, she has lived in Ontonagon where she loved playing mahjong, bridge and cribbage and shared many adventures and laughs with her sister Lori and many friends.

She is survived by her two daughters, Debra (Jeff) Hoffman and Caryl (Ken) Vehe, two sisters, Bernadean (Sauleen) Bedford of Shell Lake, Wisconsin and Loretta (Sauleen) Hartzell of Ontonagon Michigan, many nieces and nephews and extended family, including Leo's daughters Sandi (Frank) Jaeschke and Brenda Kutzler, Pumpkin the cat, and several grand dogs.

In Heaven, she has been reunited with her loved ones who preceded her in death, including her parents, her brother Thruman Sauleen, two sisters (Virginia (Sauleen) Essick and Karen Sauleen), her daughters' father, John Bedford, her beloved Yorkie, Hudson, and, of course, Leo.

She will be remembered as someone who loved to have fun and she kept her sharpness and wit until the end.

Visitation will be held on August 1, 2025, from 10:00am-11:00am at Siloa Lutheran Church, Ontonagon, Michigan with the service to follow.
