Jeffrey Gordon Helsius passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 5th, 2026. He was born on December 5th, 1959 in Ishpeming, Michigan the son of David and Janet Helsius of Trout Creek, Michigan. Jeffrey lived in Trout Creek with his loving wife Virginia of 29 years.

Jeffrey graduated from Andrews University in 1987 with a degree in Religion and a minor in Business. After college Jeffrey began his career working as a Health Care Administrator for facilities in Wisconsin and Florida and won several professional awards for the quality of his facilities. Jeffrey later switched careers and became a Pastor of several different congregations in Minnesota and the Upper Peninsula. His last congregation was in Trout Creek at the First Presbyterian Church.

Jeffrey was a self-taught pianist and a talented musician, singer and songwriter. He wrote and recorded multiple albums, including a children's album dedicated to his grandchildren. Jeffrey loved to play golf and fish. His children fondly remember family football games and that he passed along to them his love for the Green Bay Packers. Jeffrey also loved to cook and was quite the grill master to his family.

Jeffrey is preceded in death by his daughter Ka Helsius, his father David Helsius Sr. and his mother Janet Helsius (Vercoe). Jeffrey is survived by his wife Virginia Helsius of Trout Creek, a son Matthew Helsius (Leslie) of Frankenmuth, MI, a daughter Rachel McDermott (Helsius) (Andrew) of Sheboygan, WI, a son Andrew Helsius of Oconto, WI, and a daughter Rebekah Helsius of Oconto, WI, a brother David Helsius Jr. (Darlene) of Fowler, OH, a sister Kerri Castleberg (Helsius) (Mark) of Daggett, MI, a brother Cory Helsius (Diane) of Henderson, NV, and a brother Jonathon Helsius of Trout Creek, MI. He is also survived by his grandsons Micah and Moriah and his granddaughters Vivienne, Georgiana and Misha, as well as dozens of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a future date for family and friends.
