Joan Arlyne Nashland 75 of Marquette and former Bruce Crossing resident passed away June 24, 2010. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends.

Joan was born June 13, 1934 to the late Howard and Laina (Koistinen) Ahola.

She loved to travel with her family and friends. Joan honored those she loved by preparing favorite foods for each and every one. Throughout her illness her delightful sense humor remained intact comforting those around her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends who loved her. Joan was united in marriage to the late Walter "Buzz" Nashland on July 12, 1956. They remained married for 18 years.

She is survived by 1 daughter; Mrs. Gail (John) Koski of Marquette, 3 grandchildren: Mrs. Anja (Ryan) Hoffstrom and Ryan and Scot Koski, 1 Brother Kenneth (Bette) Ahola of Ramsay, 1 sister: Mrs. Peggy (Tom) Codd of Bruce Crossing, 1 step-son Andy (Darlene) Pietilas of Green Bay, WI and 1 step-sister Mrs. Helen (Ralph) Doll.

Joan was preceded in death by her parent Howard, Laina, and Marie

Visitation for Joan will be held on Sunday at the Bruce Crossing Apostolic Church from 3:30 until the time of service at 5:00 with Pastor Jesse Aho officiating. Burial will Be made in Hillside Cemetery in Bruce Crossing.
