John C. Roehm 66 of Ontonagon passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 31, 2014.

He was the son of the late Jack and Dorothy Roehm and grandson of the late Charles and Sally Roehm. John was born July 01, 1948 in Ontonagon. He graduated with the class of 1966 from Ontonagon Area High School.

John worked at local grocery stores, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Ontonagon Volunteer Fire Department from February 29, 1972 to August 29, 1994. John loved to hunt, trap and sold the hides that he caught. He also liked to go fishing with his friends.

He is survived by his sister Dorothy Smith, nieces & nephews Chris Smith, Annie Wright, Robbie Smith and Clay Smith of Adams, WI, nine great nieces and nephews also of Adams, WI, his step-mother Pat Roehm and special friends Susie Myllymaki and Destiny Pestka of Ontonagon.

A memorial service for John will take place at the Riverside Cemetery in Ontonagon at a later date and will be announced by the Cane Funeral Home of Ontonagon.
