Ewen, Mi Joseph (Joe) William LaPlant, 56, died unexpectedly Dec. 25,2024.

Born June 6, 1968 to Arthur (Jim) ,Laplant & Charlotte LaPlant. He attended the Ewen Trout Creek School District. He worked a variety of jobs including a ride operator for Skerbeck's Carnival, a woodsman/ logger, sawmill worker, and a farmhand on the largest dairy farm in the area. He also did a lot of mechanic work on family and friends vehicles. His recent job was the head of maintenance at Settler's Co-op.

He took pride in everything he did and was a hardworker. Joe's work ethic was impeccable and admirable, followed always with a friendly smile.Joe loved camping each year with his family. He loved fishing or just sitting around the bonfire reminiscing of days and years gone by. He also enjoyed meeting up with friends at the South Branch for a fun game of darts or pool.

Joe is survived by his children: Jody (Matt) Dahl, Joseph (Kassidy) LaPlant, Jasmine (Nick) LaPlant, Justin LaPlant, Jessica LaPlant, and a Stepson David Blackberg. Two brothers; John LaPlant and Jerry (Lori) LaPlant, a sister Charlene Wolford, and many Aunt, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Joe adored his grandbabies and proudly spoke of them often to anyone who would listen; Alivia, Maelee, Payton, Brianna, Chase, Aribella, and Ellie.

He was proceeded in death by his father Arthur (Jim) LaPlant, mother Charlotte LaPlant, a brother James (Jimmer) Albert LaPlant, Paternal grandparents Lyle and Marie LaPlant, Maternal grandparents Larry and Gertrude Ojaniemi, also many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins.

At Joe's request cremation has taken place. A celebration of life is planned for this summer. Those who wish to attending can email  his son at laplant1227@gmail.com for time and location.
