Joseph Mandell Ryan, Sr., 75, formerly of Ontonagon passed away May 25, 2013 at North Star Health System in Iron River, MI.

Joseph was born on April 5, 1938 in Detroit to William and Martha Ryan. He is survived by his children Joseph Mandell Ryan, Jr., Peter Allen Ryan and Douglas Keith Ryan; grandchildren Austin Joseph Ryan, William David Ryan, Skyler Lee Anderson and Kathleen Sue Pottola; and siblings Richard Ryan, Shirley Andrews, James Ryan, Rose Willard, Marthi La Tondras, Marion Timberlake and Ethel Bush.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, William and Martha and brother, Bill Willard.

A Memorial Service for Joseph will be held Friday, June 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon. Visitation will take place one hour prior. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Rockland, MI.
