Joseph Micheal Stefanich, 83, passed away at Aspirus Long Term Care on February 10, 2010.

Joe was born September 1, 1926, in Painesdale, MI, to Philip and Margaret Stefanich. He married Virginia Szaroletta on June 25, 1949. They recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Joe was a U.S. Navy veteran, worked at the Gorman Lumber Co., National Container, White Pine Copper Company, Ontonagon County Road Commission, and retired from the Village of Ontonagon.

Surviving are his wife, Virginia, and two daughters, Joanna (Gale) Holmstrom and Mary Jane (David) Loukus; five grand children, Roy, Brissa and Carson Holmstrom, Julie Loukus, and Lynnette (Jason) Firman; one great grandson, Ryan Holmstrom, and one sister, Rose Pestka. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, five brothers, and one grandson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Holy Family Catholic Church on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation is one hour before the funeral.
