On Wednesday. December 9th. 2009, Joseph William Stimac. was called home to be with the lord.
He was born to Slavo and Mary Ann Stimac on March 27,1914. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, trapper, story teller and guitar player and had a strong spiritual faith.
Joe was a devoted Son, Brother, Uncle and friend. Throughout his life, Joe worked as a Dairy Farmer, Logger, Heavy Equipment Operator, Mechanic, and in his early years had joined the CCC Camps. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and Stein Club.
He was preceded in death by his loving Father and Mother, Slavo and Mary Ann, Brother Rudy, and Sisters Matilda, Stephie, and Mary.
Joe is survived by his brother Bill Stimac, sisters Rosie (Otti)Geist and Mary (Ray) Niemi. Surviving nieces and nephews include Mary Ann Stimac, Marie (Brian) King, Billy Stimac, Mary Lou (Ronnie) Payne, Ann (Michael) Mogan, Geri (Michael) Crawford, Mary ( Lawrence) Hamm, Robert (Harry) Niemi, Teresa (Keith) Hawkins, David (Jean) Niemi,
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, December 14th 11 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Ontonagon with Father Michael Jacobus Celebrant. Friends may call Sunday, December 13th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Cane Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Monday at the church. A Rosary Service will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery in Ontonagon.
