Juanita (Bunker) Pelkola, 79, of L'Anse passed away February 1, 2012 at home.

Juanita was born on March 20, 1932 in Two Rivers, WI to parents Jesse and Ona (Powers) Bunker. She married Reuben Pelkola on February 2, 1952 in Paynesville, MI.

Her favorite hobbies including beading, baking, and making candy at Christmas.

Juanita is survived by her children, Nicholas (Ruth) Pelkola of Phoenix, AZ, Gail (John) Lannet of Fairbanks, AK, Rueben Jr. (Monica) Pelkola of Racine, WI, Brenda (Shannon) Jones of St. Germain, WI, Donella (Sam) Diosdado of Fairbanks, AK, Ona (Jason Brazeau) Pelkola of L'Anse, MI and her adopted son, Terry. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sisters Betty Kurt of Las Vegas, NV, and Genevieve (Gene) Rye of Menominee,WI

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reuben; son, Rodney; brothers, David, Junior and Morris; and sisters, Ruth Nimitz and Pearl Pulaski.

Funeral services for Juanita will be held Friday, February 3 at 1 p.m. at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon, with Pastor Richard Jones officiating.

Dennis Brown of the Cane Funeral Home is assisting the family.
