Obituary

Judith Anttila 73 of Mass City passed away Monday, May 25, 2009 at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital's Long Term Care Unit.

She was born on April 20, 1936 in Hancock to the late Matt & Jenny Kesti. Judith graduated from Hancock High School with the Class of 1954. She then completed a 1 year Nurses Training program at Highlands Park General Hospital. She was a volunteer at the Barbara Kettle Gundlach Shelter Home For Abused Women for 20 years. Judith was also employed at Ontonagon Memorial Hospital's Long Term Care Unit as a Nurse's Aid.

On April 21, 1956 she was united in marriage to William P. Anttila in Hancock. Judith served on the council of St. Paul's Lutheran Church for many years.

She is survived by her husband William P. Anttila, daughter Phyllis (Elmond) Watson of Mt. Pleasant, SC, son Steven of Jacksonville, FL, grandchildren Emily Watson, Trevor Anttila, Alisha Anttila and Gary Anttila, brothers Harold (Betz) Kesti, of Marquette, MI, Richard (Betty) Kesti of Akron OH & Fred Kesti of Bootjack, sister Edith Isacsson of Laurium and numerous nieces. nephews and cousins.

Along with her parents, Judith was also preceded in death by her son Michael and grandson Paul.

Visitation will take place Saturday, May 30th at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Mass City. An Eastern Star service will be held at 11 a.m. Funeral service will be at Noon with Pastor John West officiating. Interment will take place in Maple Grove Cemetery in Greenland, MI. A Luncheon will follow at the church.
