Judith Eleanor Niemi, age 92, of Bruce Crossing, MI passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Grand View Hospital in Ironwood, MI.  She was born February 8, 1924 to the late Solomon & Lempi (Salo) Mattson.

Judith was a member of Bruce Crossing Apostolic Lutheran Church.  She was employed by the US Forest Service in Watersmeet at Toomey, Nursery.  Judith was married to the late Albert Niemi on March 9, 1943.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, feeding the birds, loved gardening and looking after her flowers.

She is survived by two sons:  Robert (Stella) of Wakefield, MI and James Niemi of Bruce Crossing, also five; grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, her daughter-in-law Cindy Niemi of Bruce Crossing.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Judith is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Albert Niemi, her son Dennis, also four sisters; Emma, Martha, Gloria and Maria and four brothers; Arvo, Raymond, William and Waino.

The Cane Funeral Home of Ontonagon is assisting the family with arrangements.
