Judith W. (White) Schneck died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, WI surrounded by family. She had won her battle against cancer, but her treatments left her susceptible to illness. She died of complications from pneumonia.
Judy was born May 25, 1937 in Marquette, Michigan to James Keith and Marcella (Jenkins) White. The family moved to Ontonagon when she was in the fifth grade. She attended and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1959 with a BA degree in Psychology. She moved back to Ontonagon where she met and married her husband Robert Schneck on October 27, 1962.
Judy enjoyed skiing the Porkies, hiking, and helped run the Family store and ice cream shop. She especially enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters Emilie and Allie Schneck and a special grand-niece, Alyssa White. After retirement, Bob and Judy enjoyed spending two months each year in Arizona, rock hunting and playing bocce ball with their friends.
Judy is survived by her husband Robert Schneck, children Jon (Lorrie) Schneck, Milwaukee, Jacalyn Schneck, Ontonagon, granddaughters Emilie and Allie Schneck, Milwaukee, brothers Jon (Karen) White, Rhinelander, Jim White, Ontonagon, Valery (Judy) White, Marquette, Sister-in-law Ethel Zartner, Ontonagon, brother-in-law Robert Hebert, Ontonagon, Tami (Mike) Vallmar, Lansing and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Richard White, brothers-in-law Raymond Schneck and James Zartner, sisters-in-law Carol White, Kathleen White, Hazel Barry, Ruth Hebert and Doreen Schneck.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 5th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon. A memorial mass will be celebrated Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church. Friends may view Judy's obituary and leave condolences at canefuneralhome.com.
