Karen Kay Rivard Austinson passed away at age 85 on August 28, 2025, at Our Lady of Mercy in Hubbel, MI.

She was born on 9/3/1939 in Cumberland, WI to Wilford and June Rivard. She attended Turtle Lake High School as a teenager and later married Dean Austinson of Clayton, WI in the year 1958.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, Joanne Hoffman, a daughter, Jacqueline Legault, and a grandson, Dustin Hale. She is survived by two brothers, Terry and Lyle Rivard, a son, Monte Austinson (Carole), and a daughter, Jill Schneidt (Larry). She is also survived by granddaughters, Jessie Hale, Danielle and Jamie Legault, and five great grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of life to be held at Stubbs Museum Bar, 500 River Street, Ontonagon, MI 49953 on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 3:00PM. There will be no formal visitation or services.

Remains will be interred next to her husband in Holy Family Cemetery in Ontonagon, MI.
