Karl Kin 79 of Greenland passed away Monday, March 7, 2016 at is home with his loving family by his side.

He was born April 1, 1936 in Ontonagon, MI, son of the late Karl John & Ruth (Rogers) Kin.

Karl attended school in Greenland & Mass City. On November 6, 1956 he was united in marriage to Teena (Brandt) Kin. Together they made their home in Greenland. They had been married for 59 years.

Karl worked as a miner & heavy equipment operator at the White Pine Copper Mine. He also worked as a logger & truck driver for Joe Kin trucking.

Karl was an avid feeder of deer and other animals through the winter months. He also enjoyed hunting deer & working in his garden.

He is survived by his wife Teena, son Joe, grandchildren Jason, Wendy, Brian, Shannon, Danny, Doug (Liz) Kin, great grandchildren Timothy, Hailee, Kole & Klayton Kin all of Greenland, sister Ruth (John) Johnson of Westland, MI,  brother John ( Lisa) Kin of Greenland, sister June (Arn) Aho of Greenland and several loving nieces and nephews.

Karl was preceded in death by his parents, son Timothy Robert Kin, 2 infant daughters and sister Maybelle Alexander.

A memorial service is planned for Wednesday, March 9th at 1 p.m. at the Greenland United Methodist Church, Greenland, MI. Friends may call at the church from Noon until the time of the service. The Cane Funeral Home of Ontonagon is assisting the family.
