Katherine Gerzetich of Ontonagon passed away on May 18, 2010 at the Aspirus Long Term Care Unit where she resided for the past 4 1/2 years.

Katherine was born on December 10, 1914 to Nicholas and Agatha (Kurelac) Stipetich in Kansas City, Kansas before moving with her family to Benoit, Wisconsin.

She lived on a dairy farm in Benoit, Wisconsin until she married Frank Gerzetich on June 5, 1937 in Dauby, Wisconsin. Frank and Katherine made their home in Ontonagon and enjoyed 51 years of married life before Frank's death in 1988.

Katherine was a life long member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and a volunteer with the St. Vincent DePaul Society.

Katherine enjoyed going to bingo, cooking and baking and just being with family and friends.

She is survived by 5 children, Mary Ann (Donald) Wolf, Champion, Michigan, Joseph (Delores) Gerzetich, Ontonagon, Michigan, James (Kate) Gerzetich, Clio, Michigan, Robert Gerzetich, Memphis, Tennessee, and Kay (James) Davison, Ontonagon, Michigan. One Sister Anna Stipetich, Ashland, Wisconsin, 22 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Katherine was preceded in death by her husband Frank, son Mathew Gerzetich, daughter and son in law Frances and James O'Reilly, son in law Donald Wolf, grandson Jeremy Davison and brothers, John, Matthew and Frank Stipetich.

Visitation will be held Friday May 21st from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon with Rosary services at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Ontonagon with Father Michael Jacobus Celebrant. Friend may also call at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the start of the service. Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery in Ontonagon.
