(Colclasure) Preinitz
October 10, 1939 – December 11, 2020
Kathleen A. (Colclasure) Preinitz, 81 of Green, and formerly of Iron Mountain passed away peacefully at home on December 11th, with her family by her side after a courageous battle with a rare cancer.
She was born in Green on October 10, 1939, daughter of Homer and Laila Colclasure. Kathy graduated from Ontonagon Area High School in 1957 and was employed at Copper Range. She married James Krym and after their divorce, later moved to Iron Mountain, where she owned and operated her own court reporting business for many years, moving back to Green after retirement. Kathy was a special loving person to everyone whose lives touched hers.
Kathy is survived by her son Craig of Ontonagon, grandsons Tyler and Dustin (Nevada), her sisters Yvonne Poulos, Penny (David) Saari of Ontonagon, brother Homer (special friend Barb) of White Pine, special nieces Heather Store, Angela Poulos and daughters Meren & Eila, Melany Beck and daughters Stella and Lucie, Michelle Bradley and nephew Ed (Jane) Colclasure of Colorado and also including a very special lifetime friend Tom Spolrich (Arizona), as well as many cousins and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, Patrick, brother-in-law Andrew Poulos and numerous aunts, uncles and dear friends.
A graveside memorial service will be held at the Riverside Cemetery in Ontonagon, on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 2:00pm with Pastor Nelson Hall officiating.
Cane Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Ontonagon County Cancer Association in memory of Kathleen A. Preinitz.
