Kathy Lynn (Miles) Stipanovich, 53, of Ontonagon, died Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital after a life long battle with Type I diabetes.

Kathy was born July 9, 1956, in Ontonagon, the daughter of the late Jack and Betty (McGuire) Miles. She graduated from Ontonagon Area High School.

On June 21, 1975, she was united in marriage to William Stipanovich. After graduating she worked briefly cleaning area hotel rooms. She spent her entire life as a homemaker and doting aunt to her numerous nieces and nephews.

Kathy's passion in life were her dogs, whom she referred to her as her children. She loved her poodles Bootsie and Pete. Her current animals, Sam, Mandy and Kitty will miss her greatly.

Surviving are her husband, William of Ontonagon; her sisters, Mary and Duane Lahti, Ontonagon; Sally Miles, Greenland; her brothers, Mickey (Vivian) Miles, Tulsa, Oklahamo; and Pat (Mary) Miles, Twin Lakes; sister-in-laws Bonnie and Frank Borelli, Buffalo, NY; Nancy Myhren, Mass City; brother-in-laws, John and Kim Stipanovich, Bad Axe Michigan; Steve and Tammy McMahon-Stipanovich, Clermont, Fl; nieces and nephews Melissa Migliore; Ruston Miles; Chrissie Majurin; Jackie Negro; Jenny Mattson; Kari and Kevin Miles; Mark, Gina, and Greg Borelli; Lori Myhren-Kosey and Kyle Myhren; Nathan, Eric, and Daniel Stipanovich; great nieces and nephews Melvin, Ed, Eric, Erin, and Jerry Majurin; Justin Tousignant, Grayson Migliore; Mark and Cecelia Borrelli; Braxtan, Ryder, and Kolbi Stipanovich; and Lena Myhren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Scott Miles; and brother-in-law, Rodney Myhren.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 29th at 1 p.m. at the Cane Funeral Home, Father Michael Jacobus officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Spring burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery.
