Leon H. Rogers 82 of Greenland passed away August 27, 2010 at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital.

Leon was the son of Selma and Fred Rogers. He was born in Greenland, MI July 18, 1928. Leon lived in Greenland his whole life. Over the year's he drove truck for Penegor's and the Ontonagon County Road Commission, and retired from the White Pine Copper Mine after 32 years.

Leon married the former Mary Ann Johnson from Greenland 61 years ago on December 20, 1947. They made their home in Greenland. Leon enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. He is a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Mass City.

Together they raised three daughters Carolyn (Michael) Cisler of Brighton, MI, Marilyn (Dan) Rogers of Pennville, IN, and Sandra (Corky) Ricklard of Mass City, MI. Leon has four grandchildren; Jennifer Saum, Ray Rogers, Hillary (Shane)Stites, and Craig Plutchak, and six great grandchildren; Shaylin, Jacob, Evin, Jake, Shayna and Summer, and his brother Clayton (Pat) Rogers of Sweetwater, TN, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a devoted husband and an amazing dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He adored his family and they adored him. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services for Leon will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday September 1, 2010 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Mass City with visitation from 9-11 a.m. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Greenalnd.
