Obituary

Linda Sundberg age 58 died October 27, 2007 of sudden liver/kidney failure. Linda was born August 13, 1949 in Waco, TX. She was united in marriage to Steve Sundberg March 3, 1979. She resided in Madison, WI for much of her life. Linda was a life long advocate for Social Justice, believing that, "You plant seeds for trees under whose shade you will never sit." Two years ago she retired from Community Shares of Wisconsin and headed to the north woods with her husband to live in their cabin on Lake Superior in Ontonagon Michigan. She became a free lance writer for the Ontonagon Herald newspaper (her dream job). Linda tirelessly covered the beat of Ontonagon County. She worked endlessly perfecting each article working hard to remain objective and accurate. Linda took great pride in her writing and was very proud to be an Associated Press Stringer for the last Presidential Election. Her articles will be truly missed by the entire community. Linda was a member of the Eagle Aerie #2239 Auxiliary and was very proud to be named this years Chairperson of the St. Nicholas Project. Linda is survived by her mother, Billie Jean Blair Cottage Grove, WI. Her husband /soul mate and best friend, Steve Sundberg, Ontonagon, MI. Her daughter, Lissa Sundberg, Madison, WI. Her brothers; Jim (Pat) Blair, Monona, WI, Ron (Richard) Blair, Portland, OR, Ed (JoAnn) Blair, Cottage Grove, WI. David Blair, Paul (Debbie) Blair, both of Madison, WI. Brother in-law Ron (Nancy) Sundberg, Elk Grove, CA. Sisters in-laws, Mary Sundberg, Betty Foster, Gerrie Ware. Nephews and nieces, Zach (Hillary), Andrew, Joseph, Clay, Matthew, Erik, Scott (Deb), Jeanine, Roseanna (Beth), Sarah, Aleana, Amy (Sky), and Andrea. She is also survived by her Grand Godson Matthew Yancey. Linda also had a million friends. She was preceded in death by her Father, George Blair. Special thanks to the ICU team at Marquette General Hospital, especially Randy. Donations in Linda's honor can be made to St. Nicholas Project c/o Jan Tucker; Ontonagon MI. Linda loved with her whole heart and lived her life fully. There has never been a kinder soul and she will be greatly missed by everyone. A celebration of Linda's life will be held at Cane Funeral Home, Ontonagon, MI on Tuesday October 30, 2007 from 4pm to 6pm with fellowship at the Eagles Club to follow.
