Lori Ann Johnson of Mass City passed away on November 23, 2013.
She was born in L'Anse, MI on March 27, 1963 to John and Lois Turpeinen. Lori married Wade Johnson in 1982. She graduated with the Ontonagon Class of 1981 and was the owner of Lori's Corner Store in Greenland. Lori worked at Elm's Country Market in Mass City, Greenland Landfill and Ontonagon Maple Manor. She lived in Germany, Kentucky, Traverse City and Novi but her heart always remained in Mass City.
Lori loved taking and sharing photos, chatting up a good story, her music and family gatherings, especially enjoying the kids. Lori's quick smile, helping hands and huge heart are well known by those in her life.
She is survived by her children, Kortni (Sam) Huron of Traverse City and Jesse (Kimberly) Johnson of Mass City, her pride nad joy grandson Jackson Huron of Traverse City, father John Turpeinen of Mass City, sisters Cheryl (Roger) Haapala, Sr. of Rockland, Debbie (Bob) Clark of Ontonagon, Susie (Steven) Hebert of Green Bay and Peggy (Buck) Tarnowski of Ontonagon, Wade Johnson of Greenland, in-laws Alfred and Sharon Johnson of Greenland, Cindy (Tony) Gagnon of Duluth and Karin (Allen) Hillman of Proctor, Lori's several nieces and nephews include Roger (Vicky) Haapala, Jr., John (Mandy) Haapala, Danielle (Leon) Sutherland, Joe Haapala, Christopher (Kelly) Hill, Shannon (Brian) Kin, Shelley (Mike) Marciniak, Steven (Darci) Hebert, Sheri (Chad) Dieck, John (Deanna) Myllylahti, Robert (Leslie) Myllylahti, Elisha (Kyle) Greiser, Mandy Gagnon, Max (Callie) Gagnon, Jake Hillman and Drew Gagnon, great nieces and nephews are Cody, Jade, Abby, Jason, Marcus, Megan, Savannah, Joey, Stephanie, Cameron, Timmy, Hailee, Grace, Adilyn, Cole, Damian, Brittney and Jace and special friend Richard Fezzey.
Lori was preceded in death by her mother Lois Turpeinen, grandparents and niece Jorie Haapala.
Funeral Services will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rockland on Wednesday, November 27th at 11 a.m. with Father Michael Jacobus officiating. Friends may call at the church 1 hour prior to the start of the service.
