Lynda Jane (Roehm) Karttunen, 50, of Ontonagon was embraced by angels to begin her new journey on April 7, 2011 in Ontonagon.

Lynda was born in Ontonagon to Bev and Keith Roehm on July 10, 1960. She attended Ontonagon Area High School, and later married Todd Karttunen on May 23, 2003 in Ontonagon. She worked as a cook for many years.

Lynda loved her children, family and friends very deeply. She was the life of the party with canoe trips, theme parties and gatherings to celebrate anything. She had a huge heart and gave to others generously. She lived life to the fullest and it showed.

She is survived by her parents Bev and Keith Roehm, husband, Todd Karttunen; her children, Shannon Huff and Ryan Huff; Todd's children, Kyle Karttunen and Rebecca Karttunen; brother, Brian (Kelly) Roehm; sisters, Cindy (Eric) Hollingsworth and Pattie Roehm.

Funeral services for Lynda will take place Monday, April 11, 2011, at 12 p.m. at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon, with Reverend Bruce Steinberg officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

The family of Lynda Karttunen wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital, Reverend Bruce Steinberg, the nurses of Aspirus Grandview and all of the special family and friends who extended their love and support through Lynda's brave battle.
