Obituary

Margaret Anne Fraser Lenneville died January 5, 2014 at Houghton County Medical Care Facility.

She was born in Ontonagon on February 11, 1921, daughter of Ethel Chamberlain and Shelley Fraser. Margaret graduated Ontonagon High School in 1939 and St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Ashland, WI in 1942. She then worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth and did industrial nursing at Buick in Flint, MI before returning to Ontonagon Memorial Hospital. In 1959 she attended Northwestern School of Anesthesia in Minneapolis, MN, and then worked for 20 as an anesthetist at Ontonagon Memorial Hospital and La Croix Hospital in White Pine before retiring.

Preceding her in death were her parents, sister Betty, brother-in-law Stan, uncle Stanley and nephew Chris. Surviving are a son Peter (Mary); two grandsons: Nathan (Hiromi) and Matthew (Kate) and two great-grandsons: Liam and Myles; niece Shelley (Jim); three nephews: Mike (Alice), Pat (Jeanie) and Kevin (Brenda) along with their children and grandchildren.

Margaret was a very caring individual, always willing to lend a helping hand or volunteer for community groups and associations. She was also a longtime member of the Ontonagon United Methodist Church, serving in many capacities including treasurer for several years.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Ontonagon. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until the time of service.
