Margaret Catherine (Coffey) Maki 88 of Greenland died on Monday, September 13, 2010 at Bayside Village in L'Anse.
She was born in Greenland on July 22, 1922 to Joseph and Elizabeth Coffey.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wilhart , precious son Richard, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
She leaves to treasure her memory her daughter Sharon (Fred) Tubergen, 3 grandchildren Leanne (David) Hoekstra, Deborah (Brian) Wagner and Randy (Jackie) Tubergen, 3 great-grandchildren Brandy Wagner, Paige Wagner and Colten Charles, one brother Lawrence Coffey in South Range, sister-in-law Mildred Coffey in Ontonagon, brother-in-law Onni (Evelyn) Maki in Mass City and many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was a life long member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Greenland. She was employed with the United States Postal Service for 25 years serving most of those as postmaster in Greenland. Margaret was a friendly, caring, loving person with very dear friends. She loved to remember them with cards and notes on every occasion.
We have been blessed to be her family and would like to give sincere thanks to the wonderful nurses, caregivers and everyone over the years for the love and support shown to our mom, grandma and all of us.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 17th at 11 a.m. at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Ontonagon with Father Michael Jacobus officiating. Friends may call at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon on Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Rosary Service will take place at the funeral home Thursday evening at 7 p.m.
