October 9, 1937 – March 4, 2009
Marion Patana of Greenland passed away Wednesday, March 04, 2009 at Portage Health in Hancock MI where she had been a patient for the last week. We are all saddened when one of our family is taken to be with our Lord, but knowing that her pain and suffering is gone, gives us strength. She was 71 years old.
Marion was born Oct 9th, 1937 to the late Charles and Martha (Saari) Auno of South Range, MI. and attended Jeffers High School in Painsdale, MI.
Marion will be remembered for her kindness and willingness to help others in times of need. She loved to cook and enjoyed playing bingo. She was well known for her catering business that prepared many meals in the local area.
Marion worked many years at the Candelight Inn in Ontonagon and at Plutchaks Service Station in Mass City until her retirement. Marion truly enjoyed her employment with Jim and Jerry Plutchak.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Martha, her loving husband of 49 years Clyde and a sister Jane Anderson
Marion is survived by a son Kevin (Bonnie) Patana of Houghton, Daughters Kelly (Chris) Hill, Jane (Art) Seppamaki both of Greenland. Grandchildren, Stephanie and Cameron Blodgett, Aiden Seppamaki, Travis, Taylor and Taryn Kaurala, dear friends Kris and Eino Miilu, cousin Shirley Lepage and also numerous nephews and nieces and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Monday, March 9th at 5:30 p.m. at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Mass City, Pastor John West officiating. Freinds may call at the church from 5 p.m. until the time of the service.
