Obituary

Marjorie Lynn Pollard of Ontonagon, Michigan passed away on March 17, 2025 at her home.

Marge was born in Trout Creek, MI to Herbert and Lillian Garlow on September 13, 1938. She graduated from Mass High School, Class of 1956. She married William Pollard on August 3, 1957 in Ontonagon, Michigan. She worked for several years in the kitchen at Maple Manor while her youngest two children were in high school. Throughout her life she was strong in her faith and was a member of the Wainola Lutheran Church of Mass City. She enjoyed volunteering at her church and with Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly when she was able.

Marge lived a vibrant life, filled with time with her friends and family. She never said no to a cookout (weather be darned!), and loved a garage party. She was eager to cheer on the wins of her kids and grandkids, and was also there to offer words of wisdom during the losses. She was quick to make a joke and happy to put the coffee on for a chat, no matter the time of day. Jeopardy was her all-time favorite show and she dutifully recorded it to avoid ever missing an episode. During her younger years, she loved camping with her husband and four wheeling with the family. She made the best dill pickles, and kept a cookie jar full of goodies for whomever made their way out for a visit. She loved flowers and almost always had a bouquet on the table - often fresh picked for her by Wink. She loved her family fiercely, and was loved fiercely in return. She will be remembered forever as a wonderful wife, mother, auntie, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

Marge is survived by her husband of 67 years, William; her children, Michael (Nancy), Terry (Jeanne), Randy (Donna) , Brett, Christy (Bob) Kirkley, Tara (Mike)York. Sibling, Marcy (Ken) Roberts; her grandchildren, Andrea (Drew) Coffey, Derrick (Wanda) Pollard, Kory (Ceirra Schuette) Pollard, Katelyn (Chris) Witkowiak, Kendra  (Don) Pollard-Krueger, Kyle (Lauren) Pollard, Brilynn (Ona) Vasquez-Pollard, Bradee (Ryne) Southerland, Dawson Pollard, Amelia Pollard, Madalynn Pollard, Morgan (Joe) Guy, Maisey (Adam Dehnert) Pollard, Drew Pollard, Lillian Pollard, Dallas (Andrea) Aho, Bailee (John) Wagner, Savannah Pakosta and Ava Pakosta; her bonus Grandchildren, Amber (Matt) Pender, Allyssa (Jesse)  DeHaan and Dylan (Kelli) Kirkley; her great grandchildren, Gavin and Weston Coffey, Hunter, Sophia, Jenavieve, Dj, Michael and Matthew Pollard,  Veyah and Theodore Witkowiak, Duncan and Darla Pollard, Cecelia and Crue Guy, Maison and Boden Dehnert, Brenton Southerland and Adaline Aho; and her bonus great grandchildren, James, Lillian and Finley Pender, Carson and Mila DeHaan and Max Stuesser.  She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
