Martha Maria Hunt 95 of Ontonagon passed away Friday, December 21, 2007 at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital's Long Term Care Unit with her loving family and caring staff at her side.
She was born September 6, 1912 in Victoria, MI daughter of the late Ernest & Emma Schust. Martha attended schools in Mass City and Victoria. She was a long time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rockland and of St. Mary's Alter Guild.
On July 22, 1944 Martha was united in marriage top Herbert Hunt in Rockland. He preceded her in death on July 10, 1980.
Martha loved to cook and bake, which she shared with family, neighbors and friends. She also enjoyed working as a nanny for her neighbor's children.
Martha is survived by her daughters Nancy (Francis) Weza, grandchildren Ronald, Michael (Jessie), Robert (Robin), Denise and Julie (Jamie) Monville, great grandchildren Lisa, Stephanie & Ryan, sisters Jean Alexander and Betty Laine and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Mary Granda, Emma Wiesen & Helen Rutherford, brothers Ernest, Henry and Chris Schust.
A memorial mass will be celebrated Monday, December 24th at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Rockland. Friends may call at the church 1 hour prior to the start of the Mass. Inurnment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Rockland.
The Cane Funeral Home is assisting the family.
