Mary Quartz Broemer passed away on 1-26-2010 at the Hertiage Nursing Home in Port Washington, Wi. she was a patient for 2 years.

Mary was born on Dec. 19, 1918 at Independence, IA to Harry and Gertrude Hovey Quartz. On Oct. 11,1941 she was united in marriage to Clayton Broemer at the United Methodist parsonage in Ontonagon, MI. They lived in Green. Clayton preceded her in death on Oct 13,1994. She was a seamstress for many years, she also hand knitted over 70 heavy lined sweaters for family and friends, and many afghans. May 1996 she sold her home on Hy 64 and moved to Adell, Wi to be near her family.

Her survivors include daughter Inez and George Brookins, Fredonia, Wi grandchildren Linda Strelow, Adell , Wi., Michael Brookins, Adell, Wi., ,Dean and Bonnie Brookins, Saukville, Wi., Jeffrey and Joan Brookins Pine River, Wi Great grandchildren Vincent,& Matthew Strelow, Amanda, Ashley, Adam, Cora and Cory Brookins.

Preceded in death by a sister Mabel Broemer, brothers Russell & Harry Jr Quartz and grandson Paul Brookins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 30th at 11:30 a.m. at Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon with Pastor Neider officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service. The Cane Funeral Home is assisting the family.
