Mary A. Klups, age 86, of Ontonagon, MI passed away on Saturday February 7, 2026, in Marquette, MI.
Mary was born on July 9, 1939, in Ontonagon, MI to James H and Esther (Skur) Clark. She attended the Ontonagon Schools and graduated with the class of 1957. She worked at the Citizens State Bank for many years. Mary was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and served on the Finance committee and Evangelization Committee for several years. She was also a member of the Eagles Club 2239.
Mary married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Bob Klups, on November 7, 1970. In their younger years Mary and Bob enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, quiet rides in the country, and spending time with family and friends. In 1990, they had their home built on the shores of Lake Superior where they enjoyed many walks on the beach watching the sun go down, the moon come up and the many twinkling stars of God's awesome night sky.
Mary is survived by her sisters in law Kathryne Clark, Patricia (Milton) Albaugh and Carol Joy Klups, brother-in-law George Malyuk, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents, sister Doris Clark, brothers James A. and Jerry; niece Deanna, nephew Bill Klups Jr., sisters in law Judy Clark, Mary Jane Clark, Bette Schneider, Marjorie Vedder, Jackie Malyuk and brother-in-law William Klups.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 10:00-11:00 at the Holy Family Catholic Church with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00. Father Michael Jacobus will be officiating. There will be a luncheon following the funeral Mass at the Holy Family Catholic Church Hall.
A Mass of Christian Burial will commence at a later date in the Spring at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations in Mary’s name be made to SONCO Ambulance, P.O. Box 191, Bruce Crossing, MI 49912
Cane Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
