Mary Maude LaPlant, 74, of Bruce Crossing, Michigan, passed away December 21 in Ontonagon, Michigan. She was born on October 6, 1937 to the late Mayme and Alvin McCarty of Trout Creek, Michigan.

Mary loved her family, hunting, fishing, and Bingo.

Mary is survived by her children, Betty (Fred) Lorendo of Anoka, MN, Bill (Shelly) of Decorah, IA, Mary (Curly) Kirtland of Coon Rapids, MN, Mayme (Pete) Saltzberry of Bruce Crossing, MI, Walter (Kim) of St. Francis, MN, Tim (Chris) LaPlant, Tammy Myra of Bruce Crossing, MI, Albert (Dede) of Bessemer, MI, and Duane of Ham Lake, MN; siblings, Betty Labin of Sadler, TX, Glenda Lancelot of Hallock, MN and Robert McCarty of Racine, WI. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William; children, Terry, Michael and Tommy; and brothers, Leslie and Alvin.

Funeral services for Mary will be held Friday, December 23 at 11 a.m. at the Cane Funeral Home, with a one-hour visitation prior. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Ewen, MI.
