Mary Ann Myhren, 100, of Green, passed away suddenly on September 21, 2012 at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital.
Mary was born in White Pine, MI to Joseph and Caroline (Anderson) Gebeau on September 4, 1912. She was one of 6 siblings. A She married Carl Myhren on May 18, 1932; they were married for 53 years at the time of his death. They resided in White Pine, MI until moving to Green in 1940 where she still was living with her son Bernie.
Mary was a stay-at-home mother to 9 children and enjoyed raising her family and watching them grow up. Her hobbies included crocheting, cooking, and she loved to bake for her family and was proud to share her bakery with many. Mary was an avid listener to the Jan Tucker show, which she rarely missed, and has boxes of recipes to show for her many years of listening. She also loved to travel and visit family. To the day she passed, she went for a ride every night with her son Bernie.
Mary is survived by her children, Louise Cavender of Redford MI; Sharon (Thomas) Heikkila of Green; Carol (James) Bauer of Ontonagon and Bernie Myhren of Green, with whom she lived with until her passing; and daughters-in-law Judy and Lillian Myhren.A Mary was also a very proud Grandmother to 30 Grandchildren, 69 Great Grandchildren, and 28 Great-Great Grandchildren and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.A
Mary is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Caroline; husband Carl; children Les, Jerry, Bob and Kenny Myhren, and Joan Burke;A son-in-law Cliff Cavender;A three sisters and two brothers-in-law: A William & Gladys Miles, A John and Naomi Coffey, William and Margaret Miles;A and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Alvin and Ethel Gebeau and Joseph Gebeau.
Mary had just celebrated her 100th birthday on September 2nd, amongst family and friends.A She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.A
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2012. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. with service to follow at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon, Pastor Howard Neider Officiating.A Interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery in Ontonagon where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.A
