Mary Jane Rubich, 64, of Ontonagon went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 in Marquette.

She was born on December 23, 1943 in Ontonagon to Roscoe and Nancy Colclasure. She graduated from Ontonagon High School in 1962. On February 8, 1964 she married her high school sweetheart, Michael Rubich.

She spent the majority of her career at Ontonagon Area Schools serving as the elementary school secretary. It was a position that allowed her to care for many children, a practice she continued after her retirement in 2007.

She enjoyed her retirement immensely as she was able to volunteer at schools, the Historical Museum and serve on the Ontonagon Area School Board. She enjoyed her time and commitments at the Holy Family Catholic Church.

She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, her many friends, and her children.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Rubich, children Robert (Katherine) Rubich, Scott Rubich and fiancee Jessica Houle, Michelle (Tim) Seppanen, grandchildren Andrew (Stephanie) Rubich, Christopher Rubich and special friend Nickey Kotaska, Kimberly Rubich, and Jacob Rubich, sisters, Shirley (Ed) Skoviak and Clara (Dick)Scott, brother Jack (Bonnie) Colclasure, sister in laws Katherine Colclasure, Mary Lou (William) Turin, Theresa Rubich, and Dorothy Wainio, best friend Pauline (Ron) Frazer and many nieces, nephews, friends, and many special children she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her father and mother in law, her brothers Merle Colclasure and Robert Colclasure.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM Friday, December 12th at the Cane Funeral Home in Ontonagon. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, December 13th at the Holy Family Catholic Church with visitation an hour prior.

Memorial donations can be made to the Ontonagon Cancer Society and Ontonagon Area Schools Scholarship Fund.
