Mary Jane Smith 70 passed away November 6, 2006 at the Ontonagon Memorial Hospital.

The former Jane Goard was born July 3, 1936 in Ontonagon, the daughter of Leslie and Pearl (Stratton) Goard.

She graduated from the Rockland High School in 1954. In 1956 she married Walter J. Smith in Rockland.

She is survived by two sons, Aaron S. Smith and Craig J. (Christine) Smith, one daughter Michelle R. Hawkins and four grandchildren, Ashley and Adam Hawkins and Corey and Collin Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, her parents, an infant son and two brothers, Lee and James.

A graveside service will take place Friday, November 10, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Riverside Cemetery in Ontonagon, MI, Pastor Paul Sewell officiating.
