Melissa Young, 38, of Ontonagon passed away July 31, 2013 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI.

She was born October 19, 1974 in New York to Howard and Mary Jane (Kloszewski) Young. Melissa was a compassionate, free spirit who enjoyed swimming at the beach, fishing, nature, animals and spending time with her family. She loved life and will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her parents, Howard Young and Mary Jane Neve, both of New York; sons Trevor Binns of Florida and Seth Binns of Ontonagon; stepsons Josh Kelsey of Ontonagon and Jeffrey Kelsey of Ohio; sisters Daphen Young and Mallory Field, both of New York; brothers Zachary Young, Curtis Young and Brock Young, all of New York; nephews Michael and Owen; nieces Aleana and Kelsey; "other parents" Jeff and Nancy Hartman; and boyfriend Dave Plutchak.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Lorraine and Edmund Kloszewski and Clarence and Fran Young and uncle Peter Kloszewski.

A Memorial Service for Melissa will be held Sunday, August 4, 2013 at 5 p.m. at the White Pine Community Methodist Church in White Pine, MI with Pastor Rosemary DeHut officiating. Visitation will begin at 4:30 p.m. A meal will follow the service.
