Melvin W. Bosio, 74 of Ontonagon passed away on September 22, 2014 at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility in Hancock.

Melvin was born in Trout Creek to Wayne and Bertha Bosio on December 24, 1939. He attended school in Trout Creek, and married Donna M. Vergils on April 26, 1964 at the Apostolic Lutheran Church in Bruce Crossing. Melvin worked as a chip dozer operator for the paper mill for 37 years. He also served in the US Navy from 1959-1963 and was a member of the Assembly of God.

Melvin is survived by his wife Donna; children William of Whitehall, MI, Eric (Cassie) of Ishpeming, Linda of Ontonagon and Sherry (Roger) Brady of Eagle River, WI; brother John (Sharon) of Ann Arbor; sisters Ruth Kopsi of Bruce Crossing and Shirley (Robert) Kopsi of Trout Creek; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Assembly of God Church in Ontonagon on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 2 p.m., with Pastor Michael Halquist officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. A luncheon will follow.
