Obituary

Patricia Ruth Goulet Rogers, the beloved mother of three children, 10 grandchildren and 13 going on 14 great grandchildren, passed away on June 22.

Patsy, as she was known to family and friends, was born in Ontonagon on July 30, 1925 and spent her lifetime in the community she loved. She attended Ontonagon schools and was graduated from Ontonagon High School in 1942.

World War II took her briefly to Detroit for work in the defense industry and it was there that she married D. Floyd Rogers in 1944. They returned to Ontonagon to raise a family that included Lynn (David) Distel of Ontonagon, Julie (Paul) Henkel of St. Petersburg, Fla., and David (Mary) Rogers of Williams Bay, Wis.

Patsy worked in Ontonagon for the Ontonagon County Health Department, the Ontonagon County Conservation Department and eventually retired as a medical transcriber at Ontonagon Memorial Hospital.

Her interests were many and varied, first and foremost always being her family. She doted on her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. With them she shared her interests in the beach, where she could float on her back for seemingly endless periods of time, animals, birds, picking berries and mushrooms, playing cards, snowmobiling, camping and watching old movies, especially John Wayne movies. She loved traveling, particularly to Florida and California, and she loved testing her luck at casinos.

Patsy is survived by sisters Cleo Allen and Barbara (Tony) Domitrovich, her children Lynn, Julie and David, grandchildren Kirsten Menigoz, Melissa Kelly, Jacqueline Cameron, Chad Jackson, Nate Jackson, Mara Holsinger, Megan Zoller, Noah Rogers, Alison Rogers and Aaron Rogers and, in chronological order, great grandchildren Olson Kelly, Curran Kelly, Alex Diehl, Race Cameron, Henry Menigoz, Georgia Kelly, Teddy Menigoz, Ella Menigoz, Finnegan Cameron, Marlie Jackson, Sophie Jackson, Lucy Jackson and Kai Cameron. She was thrilled that granddaughter Megan was expecting a son in September.

Patsy was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, her parents Leo and Dorothy Goulet, her sister Adrance Goulet Basinski and her brother Harold (Butts) Goulet.
