Obituary

Patrick James Mogan, age 36, of White Lake, MI, entered into eternal life on March 23, 2010.

He was born in Ontonagon, MI on March 3, 1974 and lived in Ontonagon until the age of 11 when he moved with his family to Ann Arbor, MI. There he attended the Culinary Arts Program at Washtenaw Community College studying classic French Cuisine. After college, Patrick began a career as a chef in the Washtenaw and Livingston county areas before returning to Ontonagon to practice his culinary style at the Candlelight Supper Club.

Patrick was a generous and caring friend to all that knew him. He loved to entertain family and friends spending days to prepare his special Memphis-style barbeque meals for a weekend get-together. He took great joy in the delight brought to all by his culinary skills, always accepting a challenge for a perfectly cooked steak. His other passion was for fishing which gave him solace from his PTSD affliction, a result of childhood lymphoma. Patrick was always found in the company of his favorite dogs Voodoo and Buddy or watching TV with his cats Zak and Bitsey. As an avid sports fan, Patrick seldom missed a Detroit Tigers baseball game or Michigan Wolverines football game.

Patrick is survived by his parents, Michael and Ann Mogan of Pinckney and Ontonagon, MI, a brother Brian and sister in- law Leone Mogan of Pinckney, MI, paternal grandfather George Mogan, Ontonagon, maternal grandparents Ray and Mary Niemi, Ontonagon, nephews Brian Jr. and Jeremiah Mogan, niece Isabelle Mogan, all of Pinckney, MI, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Michigan, Minnesota, and Iowa. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Jeanne Mogan.

Patrick will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known him.
