Obituary

Paul J. Lencioni, 75, of White Pine passed away October 01, 2010 at Marquette General Hospital.

He was born in Franklin Mine, MI on August 24, 1935 to the late Joseph and Mary Lencioni. Paul graduated from Hancock Central High School in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army and Reserve Service from 1958 to 1964.

On June 17, 1961 Paul was united in marriage to the former Yvonne Collins at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Chassell. He began working at the White Pine Copper Mine in 1961. Paul retired from the mine in 1999.

He was a member of St. Jude's Catholic Church in White Pine. Paul belonged to the Holy Name Society at the church, was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the White Pine School Board and the White Pine Booster Club. He was an avid bowler and coached Little League Baseball and youth hockey. Paul also enjoyed attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. He was an avid Lions, Tigers and Red Wings fan.

Paul is survived by his wife Yvonne of White Pine, sons Paul Jr. (Sue), of Canton, MI, Patrick (Ellen) of Rochester Hills, MI and Michael (Charlotte) of Canton, MI, daughter Laurel (Travis) Ashbrook of Manistique, MI, grandchildren Kevin, Matthew, Peter, Antonio and Gabriel Lencioni and Hunter and Tristan Ashbrook, sister Margaret Kemper of Munising, MI and numerous Uncles, Aunts, Nephews, Nieces and Cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at the Cane Funeral Home Wednesday, October 6th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Rosary service will take place at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 7th at 11 a.m. at St. Jude's Catholic Church in White Pine with one hour visitation prior to the start of the Mass. Burial will take place in the Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock, MI.
