Phillip Baker 78 of Mass City has gone home to be with his Lord on May 9, 2011 at Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital.

He was born February 12, 1933 in Eaton County, MI to the late Pearl and Catherine (Green) Baker. Phil was born, raised and farmed all his life.

On November 15, 1952 he married his high school sweetheart Lois Meredith. They lived in the Sunfield area for 21 years before moving to the Mass City area in 1974. There, Phil continued to farm with his sons. He loved to farm but his greatest joy was his family. He was also a huge fan of every Detroit sports team.

Phil is survived by his wife Lois, children Steve, Dana (Kent) Klotz, Jeff (Crystal) and Cindy (John) Kneibel, 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a brother Richard.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary, brother Carroll and granddaughter Jody.

Visitation will be held Thursday at the Cane Funeral Home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Friday with 1 hour visitation prior to the start of the service.
