Preston Elsner, born March 9, 1956, of White Pine passed away on April 4, 2026, in Duluth, MN.
Preston graduated high school in Ontonagon as an honor student with a welding certification. He went to college with a scholarship to Northern Michigan University in Marquette where he received a Bachelor of Science degree. He majored in history and community education and recreation.
In his younger years Preston worked as a welder and a carpenter. He was considered a "Jack of all Trades". He enjoyed helping people out in his community doing roofing and carpentry work. He also worked as a ski instructor and enjoyed skiing himself. Preston was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed fishing as often as he could.
Preston is survived by his two daughters Alex and Alicia Elsner, his 3 grandchildren Aniya, Ellie and Oliver, his sister Diane Kenny and his nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death his mother, Marjorie L. Elsner (Johnson), father, George C. Elsner, and sisters Corrine Taylor, Darlen Briggs and, Patricia Jennings.
A celebration of Preston's life will be held at 1pm, on Saturday June 13th, at the Legion Cabin at the Ontonagon Township Park.
A graveside service will commence at a later date.
