IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ralph Gordon
Baker
April 18, 1938 – April 8, 2025
Ralph Gordon Baker, born April 18, 1938, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
Born in Stambaugh, MI, to Harvey and Gertrude Baker, Ralph graduated from Stambaugh High School in 1956 and went on to study at Michigan Tech.
Ralph brought Cable TV to areas of Upper Michigan by managing and then owning a successful business for much of his adult life. A skilled and passionate fisherman, archer, and hunter, Ralph spent countless days in the woods and on the water, doing what he loved most. He cherished time at Tamarack Hunting Lodge with lifelong friends.
Known for his ingenuity and craftsmanship, he could build or repair nearly anything. Many would say Ralph was a master of all trades. His quiet brilliance and willingness to lend a hand made him someone people naturally looked up to. Ralph was a devoted family man, happiest when surrounded by those he loved, playing cribbage, or many other card games.
Ralph is survived by his wife Doreene Baker, his children Scott Baker, Dottie (Charles) Motley, Randy (Melissa) Baker, two stepchildren Cindy (Michael) Malloy and David (Mary) York, Mother of his children Cindy Baker, Sister Carole (Clifford) Goodman, Grandchildren Derek (Katherine) Baker, Brigett (Matt) Johnson, Sarah (Dan) Weiner, Madeline (Tyler) Motley, Logan Baker, David Riggs, Michael Riggs, Issaih Riggs, Lindsey Morofsky, Josh York, Shannon (Lakota) Zerbe, David York, and 16 great grandchildren.
Ralph is proceeded in death by his parents Gertrude and Harvey Baker, his brother Gary Baker, and his brother-in-law Clifford Goodman.
A private celebration of life will be held with immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the U.P. Field Archery Association or National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
May his arrows guide you home.
