Ray Martin (Reino Marttinen), 92, of Ontonagon, died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008 at the Houghton County Medical Care Facility.

Ray was born July 17, 1916 to Finnish immigrants David and Ida Elina (Suuronen) Marttinen, in Mass City. He graduated from the Mass High School, and attended Michigan College of Mining and Technology.

Ray owned Marttinen Chevrolet in Mass City for 19 years, and later worked at Courtesy Chevrolet as parts man. He was an avid Lake Superior fisherman.

Ray was preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Glenn. He is survived by his wife Margaret (Koivu) of 67 years; son Dale (Vickie) of Midland; daughter Kay (Harold) Seppala of Chassell; and four grandchildren: Sarah (Scott) MacLachlan, Aaron Martin, Ben Seppala and Emily Seppala.

The funeral service for Ray will be at Siloa Lutheran Church in Ontonagon at 3 pm on Saturday, Oct. 25, with Pastor Penny Olson officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 2 a
